The Hon. Everard Bob Richards, former Deputy Premier and
Minister of Finance, started Bermuda 'Asset Management,
the first independent asset management company in Bermuda in
1987. Prior to founding BAM, Mr. Richards worked in banking in
Canadian and Bermuda, as well as working as a General Manager
at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, and as an Investment
Manager at Shell Trust Bermuda.
In 1997 Bob Richards was appointed to the Bermuda Senate.
He served as Government Leader in the Senate and Minister of
Telecommunications. During his tenure he negotiated the
de-monopolization of the telecommunications industry on the Island, a
first for any Island economy. Bermuda's overseas telephone rates
have fallen over 90% since de-monopolization.
Mr. Richards has also served on many other public sector boards including
the Bermuda Hospitals Board, the Bermuda Monetary Authority,
the Public Funds Investment Committee, the Bermuda Association
of Securities Dealers, and the Economic Council. He was reappointed
to the Senate in 2004. In 2007 Bob Richards was elected a Member of
Parliament and served as Shadow Minister of Finance until the One
Bermuda Alliance was elected as the Government of Bermuda in December,
2012. He was also Deputy Chairman of Cellular One Bermuda,
President of Bermuda Information Technology Services Ltd. He is also a
Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He recently authored the
book “Bermuda, Back from the Brink” (December 2017) and sits on the
Investment Committee of the UK P&I Club, the UK P&I Club
Bermuda and the Osisko Bermuda Boards.
Pauline D.E. Richards serves as a member of the BAM Board of
Directors. Mrs. Richards has served as a director
of Apollo Global Management, LLC since March 2011, the
Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. since December 2013 and
Wyndham Worldwide Corporation since July 2006.
From July 2008 to December 2019, Mrs. Richards served as
Chief Operating Officer of Trebuchet Group Holdings Limited
(formerly Armour Group Holdings Limited), an investment management
company. From November 2003 to July 2008, Mrs. Richards served as
Director of Development at the Saltus Grammar School, the largest
private school in Bermuda. From January 2001 to March 2003, Mrs.
Richards served as Chief Financial Officer of Lombard Odier Darier
Hentsch (Bermuda) Limited in Bermuda, a trust company business. From
January 1999 to December 2000, she was Treasurer of Gulfstream Financial
Limited, a stock brokerage company. From January 1999 to June 1999, Mrs.
Richards served as a consultant to Aon Group of Companies, Bermuda, an
insurance brokerage company, after serving in senior positions from 1988
through 1998 including Controller, Senior Vice President and Group
Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Richards also served
as a director of Cendant Corporation from March 2003 to August 2006.
Kevin Richards, MBA, is a dynamic leader with a passion for
leveraging technology to transform business.
With 15 years of experience in financial services, Kevin brings a
wealth of international experience and local expertise.
Having led Bermuda's business development efforts in technology and
economic diversification over the last 5-years, Kevin brings strategic insights into
how to leverage Bermuda's strong international business sector to drive
fintech adoption in public and private organizations.
Mr. Richards has a background in finance, energy, and insurance after
working for General Electric in the UK and Canada and Chubb in the UK and
Bermuda. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Undergraduate and
MBA programs and represented the Bermuda national soccer team in two world cup campaigns.
Mr. Richards is a member of the Irish Angels investment group,
is the Founder of the Bermuda Innovation & Technology Association
(BITA), sits on the Bermuda Shipping & Maritime Authority board and
is the Marketing Committee Chair and is a Member of the E-Commerce
Advisory Committee to the Bermuda Government.
Mr. Richards currently represents The Proof of Trust Bermuda as CEO,
MA Pay International in Global Development, and is an Advisor to
Inca Digital, SLiC and Penrose Partners.
Bella Richards has been working in the field of Marketing, Communications and
Graphic Design in both public and private sectors, for over thirteen years.
Her experience ranges from working for a Toronto brand marketing agency;
Communications Officer for a conservation agency; Marketing and Communications at a
globally recognized corporate law firm; Creative Manager for a leading Canadian retailer;
and Marketing Manager for a global tele-health benefits provider.
While in Bermuda, Bella lead the Marketing and Business Development strategy for a
leading global fiduciary company that launched in 2016. In 2018, she became the Client
Services and Business Development Manager at AAC Saatchi & Saatchi, an established
advertising and design agency. She has managed large marketing campaigns, strategy,
web and digital projects, re-branding/ identity, design direction for advertising,
print collateral, as well PR campaigns and various brand launch events for her clients.
Bella's creativity and attention to detail has also been instrumental in the planning and
execution of customer events, brand launches and promotions in San Francisco, Vancouver,
Toronto, Calgary, Bermuda and New York.
Bella is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Sheridan College Honours Business
Management program. She is also an avid painter and has partnered with local
galleries and clients to teach art workshops to the community.
